My Story

Adam - On April 7th 2024 I will be attempting to run my first marathon in Brighton raising money for Citizens Advice East Dorset and Purbeck. Citizens Advice provides free, confidential, impartial and independent advice, and I have been lucky enough to have been a part of the Charity for 8 years in total, from volunteering whilst I was at University to then getting paid employment in a number of different roles. Our goal is to help everyone find a way forward, whatever problem they face. After completing a couple of half marathons early in 2023, which felt incredibly painful and long, I felt a great personal sense of accomplishment, and now I want to push myself further mentally and physically to see if I have it in me to double it and complete a full marathon. I’m really grateful to you all for your help and support whilst I undertake this challenge.

Matthew - My wife has been working for Citizens Advice for several years and I've witnessed first hand the vital job it does. Citizens Advice provides information, support, advice and connection to essential services to anyone, on any topic. Citizens Advice is invaluable to those in times of need. If you have a problem and you don't know where to turn, call Citizens Advice. In these difficult economic times, with basic government services unable to support everyone, Citizens Advice's service has been in greater need than ever before. And as a charity it relies on donations. Please contribute what you can to this valuable service.
I am training hard with a challenging 3 hour goal in mind. Double your donation if I meet my target? 😃

Scarlett- I am very excited to be running the Brighton marathon this year in aid of Citizens Advice. This fantastic organisation provides people with the knowledge and confidence they need, so that no person has to face their challenges alone. They are provide vital help to millions of people in need every year and I am proud to be representing such a brilliant organisation.
