My Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my St Barnabas Fundraising page.

My beautiful wife Julie and I were married in February 2018 after 4 wonderful years together. During the following August she began to have seizures and was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumour in September. Despite a brain operation and radiotherapy her condition was incurable and sadly she died on 31st May 2019.

The fantastic St Barnabas Hospice at Home team made it possible for me to look after Julie at home until the end of her life, so I would like to help them by raising some money to continue their amazing work.

The challenge is to carry a guitar while running Brighton Marathon 2024 and play a song at every mile marker. I'm not a great guitar player so learning 26.2 different songs isn't going to be easy! Julie ran Brighton Marathon in 2017 and 2018 (we met at Arunners running club) so I shall be retracing her steps along the way.
