My Story

I am fundraising for this amazing charity after becoming involved through my clinical work in dental practice.

Oral cancer sits on the knife edge between medicine and dentistry and we need to do more as a dental profession to improve diagnosis, treatment options, research and continued support later in life, for those affected.

I was totally inspired and moved after I was asked to present at Salivary Gland Cancer UK's, October '23 meeting on the late effects of radiotherapy on the mouth. Here I met such, an incredible group of health professionals, carers and those affected by rare salivary gland cancers - that I couldn't not get more involved with supporting the charity!

Someone directly affected by salivary gland cancer, once said to me, "you think something rare is a gift and precious until you get diagnosed with a rare form of cancer". This really stuck with me. The charity now supports patients, survivors, researchers and health professionals working to better treatments and aftercare for those going through this cancer journey.

Any donations to support this small and mighty charity, would be greatly appreciated and hugely motivational to my run!
