My Story

On Sunday I completed the Brighton Marathon in 3:50!! Any further donations are massively appreciated and a big thank you to everyone who has already donated.❤️

The British Heart Foudnation do amazing work, including addressing the gender gap in reasearch relating to heart disease in women. A subject area I feel extremely passionate about. 

Women having a heart attack are 50% more likely to be misdiagnosed with anxiety, stress and asthma compared to men. This leads to a crucial delay in receiving appropriate and more importantly, life saving treatment. They are also less likely to be prescribed medication to help prevent a second heart attack. Unfortunately, this has cost the lives of over 8000 women in the last 10 years, whose lives could have been saved, had they received the same level of care as men. 

Reasearch is needed to change this. The BHF are a major funding contributor for this research, aiming to investigate the reasons women are misdiagnosed.
