My Story
I'm running the Brighton Marathon on 7th April and am fundraising for Solidarity Sports!
Solidarity Sports is a charity based in West London using play and exercise to help children recovering from complex trauma. I first began volunteering in October 2022 and was immediately struck by the warmth and trust between Solidarity Sports staff and children. The children were having the time of their lives - running around the playground, splashing water at each other, bouncing happily on the trampolines... I knew immediately then I would continue volunteering with the charity for a long time.
I later learned about the Hashim Family Legacy, a beautiful initiative following a heartbreaking tragedy. In 2017, the Grenfell Tower Fire claimed the lives of three of our children and their parents. Firdaws, aged 12, had dreamed of visiting Disneyland but would never have the chance. In honour of the Hashim Family, Solidarity Sports now brings 20 children to Paris Disneyland every year.
This year, I'm running the Brighton Marathon to raise crucial funds for the Hashim Family Legacy. With your support, we can ensure more children create happy memories and know that their dreams are within reach.
