Ruth (AKA Roshni) Forrest, and Peter Williams

My Story

So; here we are again! And .., I can’t quite believe I’m doing this! Because we’ve not quite been here before. Some of you will remember I took on a half marathon in 2021, it was an exercise in grit, determination, struggle, and a massive amount of fun! And I swore I’d never do anything like it again! But me being me, a half just wasn’t going to be enough! And at some point, I vaguely decided/agreed to take on a marathon! Saying that, it takes a village (or a parkrun family in my case), to get me around these challenges, and this time, I'm honoured that Peter Williams has agreed to both act as guide and personal trainer for the big challenge! he tells me this is his last marathon to mark an epic year; and if he means that, I'm beyond blessed that he's chosen to share it with me. While taking on this challenge, I naturally wanted to continue my cycle of trying to give back to the blind community of which I am a part. I’m running this for my Granddad, for those I love who have served in the armed forces and for all those who lost their sight due to military service. Blind veterans UK do incredible work supporting blinded service men and women to regain their lives after sight loss, and I can’t think of a better motivation to get me round the course, when I have nothing left in the tank! So please, give any amount you can to support this worthy cause and help us smash this target out of the park!

Finally to everyone; my family, friends, and most of all; my incredible guide runner; thank you for making this possible; and assisting me to do something amazing, and thank you all of you in advance for your donations, kindness and love; it all means so much. Please leave us messages of support here, and follow our socials @vision2run for training updates and more!
